Soccer is back at Stockton Arena after nearly a 10-year absence 

(Stockton, CA) - Last month it was announced that Indoor Soccer would officially make its return to Stockton Arena as an expansion team would begin play this upcoming 2018-19 season in the Major Arena Soccer League 2 (M2). Today it was announced that the team is officially known as the “Stockton Rush”, in reference to the 1849 California Gold Rush when the City of Stockton was founded.

The process of establishing an identity is finally complete after a Name The Team Contest, a New Logo Design and a brand new website officially launched today ( The criteria for selecting the final team name included name popularity based on public entries, creativity, how well the name represents Stockton and family friendliness.

Not one but, four lucky fans who submitted an entry that was ultimately chosen as the team name will each receive two season seats for the upcoming 2018-2019 season, two official team jerseys, their picture taken with the team and kick out the first ball during a home game.

Stockton Rush will debut at the Stockton Arena on Friday January 26, 2019 in its Inaugural Home Game. The first 1000 Season Ticket Memberships are being offered at a special price of only $99. Fans can purchase Season Memberships online at or by emailing for more information.

## MASL 2 ##

MASL 2 was formed in 2017 and will serve as the official developmental league of the Major Arena Soccer League. The M2 and MASL represent the highest level of arena soccer in the world, and combined feature 32 teams across North America, with teams playing coast-to-coast in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Stockton Arena is an indoor arena in Stockton, Ca. It opened in December 2005 and seats a maximum of 12,000 fans. It is the home venue of the Stockton Heat of the AHL, Stockton Kings of the NBA G League and now the Stockton Rush of the MASL2. Former tenants include the California Eagles, Stockton Lightning, and Stockton Wolves Arena Football teams, the Stockton Cougars Arena Soccer team, and the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL. The Stockton Arena is part of a downtown, waterfront entertainment center, which includes Banner Island Park the home of the Stockton Ports baseball team and the University Plaza Waterfront Hotel.
